FOR WHOM BOCCIA IS

Boccia was formed especially for people with the most severe physical disabilities.

The customers are mainly registered players in sports clubs, national and world champions.

We offer all the needs for boccia players, sports assistants, coaches and referees.

Boccia is likely to be played equally by children, adults, and seniors. Healthy but also those with disabilities. Men and women.

The target group is also amateur athletes, individuals and civic associations.

Also hospitals, social services facilities, retirement homes, children's homes, etc.

BOCCIA GAME PRINCIPLE

The principle of the game is similar to pétangue.

Two individuals, 2 pairs, or 2 teams play against each other.

The goal is to get as much of the own 6 balls as possible closer to Jack than the nearest opponent's ball.

A BC3 category player only needs the ability to make a minimal movement of his head or hands.

The rest will be done by a sports assistant who controls the boccia ramp according to his instructions.

The boccia ramp is something like a slide for a boccia ball. The ramp gives the balls speed and direction.

MY STORY

Ondrej Bašták Ďurán
the owner of BASHTO SPORTS
My name is Ondrej. I'm a guy from a small country in the heart of Europe. I come from Gemerská Poloma – a picturesque village in south-eastern Slovakia. This is where I was born, and this is where I run my business. And this is my story…
It all began, when I first came across boccia. It's a Paralympic sport for people with the most severe disabilities. While I was still a student, I became a personal assistant for people with health disabilities. I later took on the role of a sports assistant for boccia players in different categories. I became a boccia coach and national referee.
In the meantime, I was actively participating in many national and international tournaments. I learned everything there was to know about the game and the players' needs. I wrote a book on boccia coaching and in 2013 I started a business selling sporting equipment for boccia...
Today with the help of my colleagues, I develop own professional sporting equipment – not just for boccia, but also for other sports for people with health disabilities... I export my products to 35 different countries on 5 continents.
